Jamie Maher :: Biography

Jamie Maher has been working internationally in Studios as a Producer and Digital Engineer / Programmer for the last 10 years. As well as working in his own right as a programmer, ProTools engineer and producer, Jamie also forms one half of the Rainmaker production team with Fayney. He now works out of his BFD Studios (www.bigfuckingdigital.com), in London NW6.

Jamie ran away with the circus (literally the Moscow State Circus) in his late teens and ended up with Michael Jackson on tour (an even bigger circus!). Returning to the UK and working at Metropolis Studios with All Saints (handling the majority of the first album) and The Verve, he mastered digital recording and editing early on. After this, he freelanced in production and as a programmer for many artists, including Tina Turner, Meat Loaf, Jeff Beck, Verve, Ash, New Order, Sugababes, Charlotte Church, Joss Stone, Darius, Shaggy, Ruslana and Maxi Priest amongst others.

He also has played as a session guitarist (live and studio) for various artists including The Artful Dodger and MeOne. Last year Jamie co-wrote the winning Eurovision song 'Wild Dances' for Ruslana and co-wrote and co-produced 2 tracks on her new album.

Recent co-writes feature on the new MeOne album due in Jan 06. Steps are being made into different fields of the creative industry, with artist management / development, digital distribution and educational projects all featuring in the new skill sets.

With a very versatile 'music head' Jamie can adapt and work with a wide range of styles, as so much depends on broad understanding of musicians and a true love of music and his work to date reflects this. He is overly, unhealthily handy with ProTools, Logic, Reason, AbeltonLive, Cubase and FlashMx amongst other software titles.
