James Lewis: Biography
James's recent progression as a producer, mixer, engineer & writer has reaped a succession of great records. Following his mixes for hotly tipped Cajun Dance Party (championed by Jo Whiley / NME single of the week) he has gone on to produce, engineer and mix 'Ride The Storm', the forthcoming single for Simon Webbe which was chosen as the main title track for director Tim Story's Hollywood Blockbuster movie 'Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer' due for release June '07 through 20th Century Fox.

Having recently been credited as 'reinventing The Pistolas as dancefloor-baiting art-rock heros' (their single 'Take It With A Kiss' is due for release in June through Best Before Records), he has just completed mixing Ripchord's (1965/SonyBMG) eagerly awaited debut album, produced by Ian Broudie, alongside debut albums for The Tunics and OK.
Previous productions incluce 'When Your Watch Stops' for Morning Runner (Parlophone), as well as debut singles for 'The On Offs' & 'Dirty Little Faces', thrusting both bands straight to Radio 1 airplay.
As an able Co-writter James has been creating tracks with Alex Reid, Colin Emmanual, Sugarcaine and The Thirst.
James learnt his trade in Liverpool and London under the guidence of a combination of producers, engineers and songwriters such as Mike Crossey, Andy McCluskey and Sacha Skarbek, in which time he engineered for the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Natalie Imbruglia, The Little Flames, Melanie Blatt, The 747s, Sinead O'Connor and The Dead 60's.
James sights his time spent in Liverpool as a period where he developed good working ethics, really concentrating on the performance of the artist whereby it is the performer not the computer that makes the record.
James is equally at home whether it be producing or mixing and enjoys working between a combination of analogue tape and Pro-Tools.
