Jon Kelly :: Biography

Jon is one of the 'Great British Producers'. He has produced and mixed legendary albums for an incredible spectrum of artists including The Beautiful South, Heather Nova, Tori Amos, Paul McCartney, Deacon Blue, Prefab Sprout, Kate Bush and Paul Heaton's solo album.

Well respected for his production and arrangement skills, Jon has the ability to work together with the artist to bring the best out of the raw material of their songs. He is also in demand purely as a mixer being regularly recruited to provide some final refinement to a track through additional production and then the mix.

Jon has an excellent studio in West London equipped with a Euphonix desk and a full Pro-Tools system. This allows him to work on development a project with an artist, on pre-production and often a lot of the tracking required. It is also ideal for mixing and means studio costs can usually be kept to a more reasonable level than by using a commercial studio.

Over the past year or two he's produced the debut album for SonyBMG artist Tom Baxter, an album for new Irish star Mickey Harte, mixed tracks for Paddy Casey and produced the Beautiful South albums "Gaze" and "Golddiggas, Headbangers and Pholk Songs".

Jon has just finished producing the debut album for new Universal signing Beulah - "Mabel and I".
