Richard Robson :: Biography

Producer / Remixer / Writer Programmer Beginning as studio programmer at the world renowned Metropolis Studios (London) Richard has built on his considerable programming and production expertise, developing quickly into the areas of writing, production and DJ work, allowing him to establish bases and clients through out Europe and North America.

Previous credits and collaborations include working alongside such luminaries as Chris Potter (Rolling Stones, Richard Ashcroft, The Verve, Dido) Andy Wright, (Simply Red, Jeff Beck) Craig Silvey (The Magic Numbers, Kevin Mark Trail, The Longcut) Steve Lipson (S Club 7), while high profile film projects such as Batman Begins (Hans Zimmer/James Newton Howard) and Over The Hedge (Rupert Gregson Williams) and DJ mixes for Lemon Jelly have allowed Richard to diversify his skills yet further.

After completing his contributions to the Richard Ashcroft album "Keys to the World" with Chris Potter and working closely with Johny Dollar and Craig Silvey on the critically acclaimed debut album "A Call And Response" for The Longcut, Richard moved on to create a run of remixes with Desert Eagle Discs (partnering with UK hip hop guru, Syze-Up). These include The Sugababes "Ugly", Mattafix "To and Fro" and Amy Winehouse "Rehab". D.E.D. have been unofficially linked with some of the hottest bootlegs on the street and June will see D.E.D. commence production of a new Desert Eagle Discs (http://www.myspace.com/deserteaglediscs) album, a forthcoming release through the Kuba Music group.

With Desert Eagle Discs he was on production duties on 7 tracks for the new album of Soul sensation Cunnie Williams for Universal France and has been writing for a string of up & coming UK acts.

Richard has also completed producing and co writing tracks for US artist Jes (http://www.myspace.com/planetjes). Her inspired debut album "Disconnect" will be released imminently through Blackhole Recordings NL, after widespread support from the worlds current #1 DJ Tiesto. Promo for the album will include the "Elements of Life World Tour" featuring both Jes and Tiesto while the first single "Ghost" has already achieved widespread European radio and critical support prior to its release. Richard has also produce a remix of Tiesto ft Jes "Everything Acoustic Mix" featuring on Tiesto's current hit album "Elements of Life". Further to this hectic schedule, Richard has been co writing tracks with Kenisha Pratt (Brandy, TLC, Toni Braxton) and Swedish sensation Mr Gill amongst others, whilst also producing songs for an upcoming project with a new French/Swiss artist Kirsty B.
