Teo Miller :: Biography

Teo Miller's productions burst onto the radio waves in 1993 with Daisy Chainsaw's powerful "Love Your Money" single.

Since then Teo honed his art by working with top name producers including Arthur Baker, Steve Osbourne, Gus Dudgeon, Mike Hedges and Phil Vinall. He has worked with an eclectic range of artists including Placebo, James, Happy Mondays, Blur, The Auteurs and the seminal Black Box Recorder.

He completed additional production and mixing for Martina Topley-Bird's album (Tricky's collaborator for many years) for Independiente / Sony, which was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. He also mixed the critically acclaimed "On My Way Down" by Span for Universal Island - a 'Kerrang Single of the Week' and described by NME as '...excellent break-neck rock and roll mayhem...' and mixed tracks for Das Pop. Teo completed a double album with French artist Saez for Universal Island France and returned to France to work with the same A&R team to produce an album for female punk band Subway.

Since then Teo has worked with a variety of artists and was specially recruited to record the track "Let The Four Winds Blow" for Robert Plant and his new band Strange Sensation, recently signed to Sanctuary Records, mixing tracks for Goose, production for The Zico Chain's self titled debut album and an upcoming album from "the Rain", whose single "big Lie" was included in Colin Murray's top 10 favourite singles of 2006. Teo is currently working with new hopefull's "Royal Treatment Plant".

In addition to being regularly requested as a mixer by high profile producers, Teo is an established producer in his own right. His approach combines the best of modern recording methods, especially Pro-Tools, but adding vintage analogue sounds (an impressive collection of amps, synths and outboard travel with him!). He believes that capturing a performance, plus making an artist feel comfortable and creative is a vital, but sometimes overlooked, factor in making outstanding music.
