Biography
A highly innovative producer and composer based in Stockholm, Andreas’ curiosity and love for music has taken him on wild music-based journeys that have featured collaborations around the Globe, from Brazil to Senegal to Mali, from Ethiopia to Cuba to Morocco.
He specialises in bringing the contemporary and the ethnic together.
He has produced several award-winning albums from the likes of Calle Real, Tiganá Santana (feat. Mayra Andrade, Ane Brun) and recently the latest Tiganá Santana album released (feat. Céu from Brasil), worked with Salif Keita and also produced much of the recent highly acclaimed Oumou Sangaré album “Mogoya”.
Andreas produced the Carlou D album “A new day”, featuring Eagle Eye Cherry mixed with Russel Elevado (of DÁngelo “Voodoo” fame). He also produced records by Karima Nayt(Quoi d´autre), Sousou & Maher Cissoko and the new Cheik-Loalbum “Balbalou” (feat. Ibrahim Malouf and Flavia Coelho). He produced the Ramy Essam album “The voice of the Egyptian revolution” and also the talented Toronto based singer song writer Cal Trask. In collaboration with Sida and Selam, he built and developed a recording studio in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he recorded a unique album with local super-stars Ethiocolor.
On the live side, Andreas has toured with artists like “Sugarman” Sixto Rodriguez , Laleh, Robyn, Ricky Martin, Antoine Boyer and many more. From 2015 he worked as Artist in Residence at Vara Concert House where he developed the “Best of Sweden” and the “Forbidden Orchestra” projects. And in 2012 he was the music director for the Polar Music Prize Award when Youssou N´Dour received the award.
As a composer he has been nominated for the Swedish Academy Award (Guldbaggen 2017) for best music score and worked with various film music projects from Sweden, China , Cuba and Colombia, such as “While We Live” by Dany Koyateand a documentary “Nikki & Marta” by Tora Mårtens. Also, together with Youssou N ’Dour, he composed the song “Voices of Today” for the World Expo in Shanghai.
