Biography
Rob Ellis is a versatile musician, composer, and record producer who made his mark on the music scene in 1991 as part of the original trio with PJ Harvey on their debut LP “Dry.” His collaboration with PJ Harvey extended throughout the 90s and early 2000s, encompassing both live performances and record production. Notably, he co-produced the acclaimed LP “Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea,” which clinched the prestigious Mercury Prize for Best Album.
Along with PJ Harvey, his extensive list of collaborations also includes Marianne Faithfull, Anna Calvi, Scott Walker, Bat for Lashes, Placebo, Mick Harvey, Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Dot Allison, Robyn Hitchcock, Martina Topley-Bird, Torres, Cold Specks, Tom McRae, Swell, Fredrika Stahl, Laika, & Madrugada.
In addition to these collaborations, Rob has found time to write and record five albums, three under the moniker “Spleen” and two under his own name, showcasing his versatility in contemporary classical and jazz genres.He has also written scores for two fims, “Hell Camp;Teen Nightmare” for Netflix and “Broken English” a film about Marianne Faithfull in which Rob is also featured as a performer.
