Biography

Kipper is a highly accomplished producer, musician, writer, and programmer, known for his work with a wide range of artists including, Sting, Mary J Blige, James Morrison, Richard Marx, Stevie Wonder, Clay Aiken, Shawn Colvin, Gary Numan and Connie Talbot. The album’s he has produced have sold over 14 million copies and has won both Grammy and Emmy awards for his work.

After forming the band One Nation, which signed to IRS/MCA, producing two albums and touring extensively,  Kipper decided to focus on production and writing with solo artists, working extensively with Gary Numan, Catherine Zeta Jones and Curtis Stigers and also on numerous Hollywood Film Underscores with legendary film composer Trevor Jones.

Kipper toured as Sting’s MD/Keyboard player for five years and is known for producing Sting’s best-selling solo album, Brand New Day, for which he won a Grammy for Best Pop Album. He also produced two follow-up albums, All This Time and Sacred Love, winning a second Grammy for Best Duet with Mary J Blige on the song Whenever I Say Your Name.

He has his own mix room on the beautiful island of Bali where he works both remotely and also brings international artists to record. He partners with Labyrinth studios Nyenyi, giving him access to a world-class recording and mix facility in Asia.

However, his love of London’s energy, artists, and studios means Kipper still travels frequently to the UK to work with clients in Europe..
