Biography
Mert is a Los Angeles-based music producer, Dolby Atmos mixer, and sound designer originally from Türkiye. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, where he studied music production and engineering, Mert began his career in world-renowned studios including Abbey Road, British Grove, and Interscope Records before founding The Record House, a professional music and sound studio in LA.
Mert is an early adopter and specialist in immersive audio formats such as Dolby Atmos, helping artists reimagine how their music is created and experienced. His immersive and stereo mixes span a wide range of genres, with credits including Major Lazer, Sigur Rós, alt-J, St. Vincent, Denzel Curry, David Guetta, My Morning Jacket, and Franc Moody.
The Record House was among the first studios in the U.S. to receive Dolby certification as a nearfield Atmos mix room in early 2020. It remains a go-to destination for artists and labels looking for high-quality immersive music mixing.
In addition to music production, Mert works extensively in film, TV, advertising, and podcast audio. He mixes film scores for composers and creates original music and sound design for major commercial clients including Turkish Airlines, Wayfair, and New Balance. His recent work includes the 2024 Golden Rooster Award-winning animated film Dragonkeeper, for which he recorded the score by Arturo Cardelús.
