Biography
Originally hailing from Turkiye, Mert studied music production and engineering at Berklee College of Music. He had the good fortune of working in some of the most prestigious studios in the world including Abbey Road, Interscope Records and British Grove before starting his own music & sound studio, The Record House, in LA.
Being an early adopter of immersive sound formats he helped a wide range of artists push their music into new frontiers. Working across genres with the likes of Major Lazer, Sigur Rós, alt-J, St. Vincent, Denzel Curry, David Guetta and more. Mert can take any project and craft a well fitting and captivating stereo or immersive mix.
Dolby Atmos gives the artists and fans to create and experience music in a brand new way. Mert aims to create breathtaking immersive experiences that translate across the various listening environments. The Record House was one of the first studios to be certified in the US by Dolby as a near field Atmos mix room in early 2020 and is a pristine space to mix and review immersive mixes.
As a multifaceted audio professional, Mert mixes film scores for composers and does original music and sound for commercials, films, tv shows and podcasts as well. His compositions and sound design can be heard on commercials for Turkish Airlines, Wayfair and New Balance. Dragonkeeper, a Chinese animated film Mert recorded the score for Arturo Cardelus, won the Golden Rooster Award (Chinese Oscar) for Best Animated Feature in 2024.
